Our 2008 Charities
Helping Local Lee Country Charities is Our Goal Each year the committee does extensive research to select worthy charities. We use the following criteria: •low administrative costs •able to name specific needs •in our local community •of member interest This year, the following worthy charities will be the focus of our fundraising efforts. ●ACT-Abuse Counseling Treatment Inc. is a group whose mission is to protect, support and educate victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties
●CCMI-Meals on Wheels is dedicated to providing nutritious meals, groceries, transportation services and referral services to the homeless, seniors, working poor, children and the frail in our Lee County community
●Children’s Hospital/Lee Memorial takes care of children in need of medical services and life saving treatments.
●Senior Friendship Centers of Lee County provides community-based services to low-income frail elders and their caregivers that prevents and/or delays institutionalization.
●YMCA of Lee County provides a wide range of activities for children and adults—no one is denied membership or program participation for financial reasons.
